KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — A no contact advisory is being issued for a portion of the Kalamazoo River after a sanitary sewer overflow.
Kalamazoo city officials were notified of the discharge into the storm sewer at the corner of Cameron Street and Washington Avenue around 5:45 p.m. Tuesday and they stopped the sewage just before 8:30 p.m.
Nearly 2400 gallons of material overflowed and crews are still working on repairing the sanitary sewer.
A no contact advisory was put in place for the river between the Kings Highway Bridge and the Mills Street Bridge.
This comes almost a week after another major sanitary sewer release at the corner of Cameron and East Stockbridge.
