OSHTEMO TOWNSHIP, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — Kalamazoo County Sheriff deputies are investigating a suspicious package that prompted an evacuation of a store in Oshtemo.
It occurred around 3 p.m. Thursday in the parking lot of the Target on West Main Street, east of US-131.
Authorities say a customer returned a package that appeared to be “not normal” and a bomb technician was called in to examine the package.
The store was evacuated and taped off as officials investigated.
The Target was reopened about 2-hours later. So far there is no information on what the suspicious item was or if it was dangerous.
Moments after this incident, the Chemical Bank a mile away on West Main was robbed at gunpoint.
