PUNTA GORDA, FLORIDA (WKZO AM/FM) — It seemed like a good idea at the time but WMU has decided to close its Aviation School in Punta Gorda, Florida after the plans just never came together.
Currently there are just 38 aviation students and two music therapy students enrolled there and none of the proposals for housing or retail development originally envisioned for the campus in Florida has worked out.
They need at least 200 students to make the program sustainable, and their marketing projections just are not there.
