JACKSON (WKZO AM/FM) — Consumers Energy says it may be more expensive to buy LED Christmas decorations up front, but it can really save a lot of money on the back end.
They say the typical holiday decorator could reduce their energy bill from paying nearly $11 for the extra juice, down to just a $1.63 with the Light Emitting Diode bulbs.
The more serious decorator could reduce their monthly bill by a factor of ten and the really enthusiastic decorator, who would pay $40 to power LED Bulbs for a month, would be nicked for $310 if they used incandescent bulbs.
They have an online calculator where you can figure out your costs.
