BATTLE CREEK, MI (WTVB) – A Battle Creek Police officer is under investigation after she shot and killed a family dog while responding to a domestic dispute November 27, 2018.
The name of the officer has not been released. WWMT-TV in Kalamazoo aired security footage of the incident last night. It showed a nine year old black lab named Dozer approach the officer, who then fired her weapon.
Nicole and Jason Sandusky claim the officer denied a request from family members to get medical aid for their dog.
Battle Creek Police Chief Jim Blocker told WWMT-TV, ”In this particular incident, there was some exceptional shortcomings, and that is why this is being investigated.”
