KALAMAZOO (WKZO AM/FM) A 46-year-old Kalamazoo man has been shot in the torso while allegedly trying to break into a home in the Edison Neighborhood.
Kalamazoo Public Safety was dispatched to the 200 block of Richard Avenue just before 8:00 Tuesday evening. The wounded man was loaded into an ambulance after losing alot of blood and rushed too the Emergency Room.
The person who shot the man, the occupant of the home, approached officers at the scene and is cooperating with detectives.
No names have been released, but Public Safety wants to assure residents in the area that there is no outstanding threat to others.
The man who was shot was last reported in critical condition.
