BATTLE CREEK (WKZO AM/FM) — An electrical outlet may be to blame for the start of a house fire in Battle Creek.
It happened around 5:45 a.m. Wednesday at 37 Lathrop Avenue.
The Battle Creek Fire Department was called to the scene and found flames and smoke coming from the 2nd floor bedroom.
It took a little over an hour for 21 firefighters to extinguish the blaze, ventilate the home, and make sure there were no other hot spots.
There was smoke damage mostly to the 2nd floor.
Nobody was injured, but the fire caused about $20,000 in property damages and $10,000 in content damages.
