PAVILION TOWNSHIP (WKZO AM/FM) — A 70-year-old Portage man is in the hospital with multiple, serious injuries after he was struck by a vehicle in Kalamazoo County.
It happened just before 10 a.m. Tuesday on East S Avenue just east of South 26th Street in Pavilion Township.
Kalamazoo County Sheriff deputies say the man was in the roadway of East S Avenue when he was hit by a car traveling westbound.
The victim then became pinned underneath one of the tires when the vehicle came to a stop.
He was treated on scene by first responders and then rushed to Bronson Hospital with several serious injuries.
The driver was not injured.
No names have been released at this time and authorities do not believe alcohol was a factor in the incident.
The pedestrian crash still remains under investigation.
