LANSING, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – Michigan voters could soon see the vote to legalize recreational marijuana on the November ballot.
In a unanimous vote of 4-0 Thursday, the state Board of State Canvassers approvied the signatures that The Coalition to Regulate Marijuana like Alcohol collected to put the proposal on the ballot.
The measure now heads to the State Legislature, which will have 40 days to enact the plan or it will automatically move to the ballot.
If approved, the proposal would legalize, tax, and regulate recreational marijuana and anyone 21 or older could use and possess the drug, but only in their own home.
