OSHTEMO TOWNSHIP (WKZO AM/FM) — Officials say no humans were hurt but at least 7 rescue animals are dead after an apartment fire in Ostemo Township.
It happened just after 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Whitegate Apartments on South 11th Street.
Firefighters say the resident took in rescue animals and at least 3 dogs, 3 cats, and a bird have died.
Officials are investigating if there were any others.
The fire began at the front of the apartment near the living room but the cause of the fire is still unknown.
