PAVILLION TOWNSHIP (WKZO AM/FM) — Almost a year later, a woman will spend 17 to 19 years behind bars for the shooting death of her husband.
In Kalamazoo County Circuit Court on Monday, 44 year old Janel Boer pleaded guilty to second degree murder after admitting to killing her husband on Valentine’s Day last year.
First responders found Gregory Boer dead in the basement of a home on South 36th Street in Pavillion Township and Janel Boer in the garage with a gunshot wound to her arm.
The prison sentence includes the 348 days she’s already spent in jail.
Boer apologized in court for taking the life of her husband.
