EMMETT TOWNSHIP (WKZO AM/FM) — A fire at an abandoned home in Emmett Township is being investigated as suspicious.
Fire Crews were dispatched to the 200 block of Cherokee at about 4:30 Sunday morning to discover that a home that had already been declared a total loss from a fire last year was burning again.
The fire crews concentrated their efforts on making sure the homes on either side were protected from the flames. The home has no gas or electric, leaving human intervention as the most likely trigger.
The Fire Marshal got an assist from a State Police dog that is trained to detect if any flammable liquids may have been involved.
Investigators are asking that any citizens who may have seen anyone going in or out of the damaged home in recent days, offer that information to investigators.
