SAUGATUCK (WKZO-AM) — The body of a 40-year-old woman has been found in the snow in a playground at the Shangrai-La Mobile Home Park northwest of Saugatuck in Allegan County.
Police are treating it as a suspicious death and are waiting for autopsy results before deciding how to proceed.
The discovery was made at 2:00 p.m. Sunday. They haven’t said if the woman’s body exhibited any signs of trauma. The body was found by several children, according to a press release.
Sheriff’s deputies have not released her name, but say the woman lived at the trailer park off Blue Star Highway, and there should be no reason for others living in the trailer park to be concerned about their safety.
Forensic crews spent late yesterday afternoon and early evening melting snow around the spot where the body was found to collect any items that might be connected to the death. None were reportedly found.
