KALAMAZOO (WKZO-AM) — A teenager accused of firing at least two rounds at the driver of a parked car in the 1300 block of North Rose Street in Kalamazoo last Friday has been charged with multiple felonies.
Jerry Tyson, 19, has been charged with carrying a concealed weapon, assault causing great bodily harm, discharging a weapon from a vehicle, felonious assault and three counts of felony firearm. He was arrested on an outstanding warrant last Saturday after fleeing the scene, detectives with Kalamazoo Public Safety said.
A search of the Lakeway Avenue home Tyson was discovered at turned up guns and marijuana processed for sale.
The teenager was arrested after a person who claimed to be the victim of the incident contacted emergency dispatchers and identified the gunman.
