STURGEON BAY, WISC. (WKZO-AM) — Sturgeon Bay police have identified the Kalamazoo man who drove a rental car into the water as 65-year-old Michael William Little.
Marcella Clark, 55, also of Kalamazoo, was in the car at the time and told police that Little was slumped over the wheel and was not in control of the car when it slowly rolled off a pier at Center Pointe Marina and into Sturgeon Bay.
Capt. Dan Brinkman tells WBAY-TV that she managed to escape with her dog, but she was unsuccessful at pulling Little from the car as it slowly sank Little and Clark had a sailboat docked nearby, police said.
It took about an hour to find and bring the Oldsmobile Lucerne to the surface using floatation bags.
The cause of death remains under investigation.
