BATTLE CREEK (WKZO-AM) — A 36-year-old Battle Creek man is jailed after he forced his way into an occupied home in the 300 block of Meachem Avenue.
Officers with the Battle Creek Police Department surrounded the residence and used a K9 to locate the man in the basement at around 11 p.m. Sunday.
Investigators also recovered a gun from the scene.
Emergency dispatchers were told the man was seen lurking around the neighborhood prior to the incident.
The unidentified suspect was booked into the Calhoun County Jail on weapons and home invasion charges, according to a press release from the law enforcement agency.
