KALAMAZOO (WKZO-AM) — The mass-murder in Orlando is just another reason why State Rep. Dave Maturen, R-Battle Creek, thinks the active shooter alert system bill steered through the legislature should be signed by the governor now.
He says it could be a valuable and life-saving app in the right circumstances.
Gov. Rick Snyder says he hasn’t seen the bill yet, but he thinks it’s on the right track.
The House approved it last month. The Senate approved it last week.
It would work like Amber Alerts, using communications platforms to get out the word that there may be an active shooter or some other community danger at large.
