BATTLE CREEK (WKZO-AM) — Calhoun County Sheriff’s deputies have jailed a Battle Creek resident for possessing a stolen gun.
The discovery was made in the 100 block of Redner Avenue early Wednesday.
Officers were led to the suspect after the arrest of a driver who was wanted on outstanding warrants during a traffic stop Tuesday night in Springfield, after cocaine was found in the fugitive’s vehicle. Deputies then executed a search warrant at the home in Battle Creek once investigators linked the drugs to the residence.
A press release did not make it clear if additional drugs were found inside the home.
The gun was reported stolen out of Battle Creek in 2014.
