ALLEGAN COUNTY (WKZO-AM) — The Gun Lake Tribe says it will spend $76 million to double the size of their casino in Wayland.
Construction started in January and should be completed by the summer of 2017, adding 73,000 square feet of space.
Features will include more games and machines, a high-limit gaming room, a bigger entertainment lounge and a 300-seat buffet with revamped and extensive menus.
General Manager Brent Arena said the casino is only open to those 21 and older, but the expansion and the buffet will create opportunities for families to visit.
He said the project will employ as many as 400 construction workers and will create 100 new casino, food service, management and maintenance jobs.
The casino currently employs more than 800 people.
