FLINT (WKZO) — Another case of Legionnaires disease in Flint is being blamed on the outbreak that followed the switchover to Flint River water in 2014.
The Michigan Department of Public Health now says one of the cases was initially credited to Shiawassee County because that’s where the victim lived.
They have since determined that it appears the disease was contracted while the victim was receiving treatment at a Flint Hospital.
That brings the total deaths for 2015 to 5 and the total since the outbreak began to ten.
Health officials have not yet found a definitive link between the Legionnaires and the switch-over to using Flint for the city’s water supply, but no other explanation has been found, and the two events occured practically simultaneously.
