KALAMAZOO (WKZO-AM) — Kalamazoo Public Safety says it has tracked a man wanted for attempted murder to a relative’s home in Muncie, Ind. and that’s where the arrest was made.
They had been looking for Victor Peery ever since his girlfriend claimed that he shot her twice during a domestic dispute at an apartment in the 700 block of Duke Lane in Kalamazoo late Sunday. She was hit in the arm and shoulder and will survive.
Muncie Police set up a surveilance at the location and watched until they had enough probable clause to seek a search warrant. SWAT came along when they served the warrant and the occupants of the home, including Peery, quickly surrendered.
The police received several tips where the 22-year-old Peery was hiding out.
