KALAMAZOO (WKZO-AM) — A Former Emmett Township police officer and rape suspect has been released from the Kalamazoo County Jail after his attorney successfully motioned to have his bond reduced from $1 million to $5,000.
Troy Estree, 46, was accused of criminal sexual conduct involving a juvenile relative. He was acquitted of that charge last month in a Calhoun County courtroom.
He had been free on bond as the case out of Calhoun County made its way through the court system, but was arrested during his time out of jail for allegedly forcing himself on a 33-year-old female relative at a spa in Kalamazoo County. Trial in that case is scheduled to begin on April 12.
Estree was fired from his job in January.
