KALAMAZOO (WKZO-AM) — Kalamazoo County Commissioner Stephanie Moore says she has nothing against incoming administrator Terrence Neuzil, but remains displeased about his recommendation to the position.
“He’s going to be a good administrator, but this is not about Mr. Neuzil — I welcome him to Kalamazoo,” Moore said. “My only issue was the process or lack thereof.”
She says the firm hired to help fill the position did a poor job.
“After we interviewed all seven candidates, we were just kind of left to figure out what’s next,” Moore said. “That really made the process not treat all candidates fairly.”
Moore, a Democrat, blasted her colleagues, the consultants and board leadership before voting in favor of Neuzil’s $128,000 contract Monday.
He leaves Iowa next month to start work in Kalamazoo.
