MARTIN, MI (WHTC) – Some quick thinking by two boys, aged 11 and eight, enabled a family of four to escape safely from a two-story house fire near Martin overnight. Justin and Owen Davidsons were able to climb down a tree from a second-floor bedroom window and get help from their grandfather living next door, who then rescued parents Jonas and Amber Davidsons by using a ladder. Crews from several departments brought the flames under control. A cause of the fire wasn’t immediately known; the house off of 114th Avenue west of 10th Street is a total loss. No responding firefighters were injured.
