SOUTHWEST MICHIGAN (WKZO) It was supposed to be the hottest day of the year, and instead turned into a stormy and wet one.
Straight line winds left scattered outages, most of which have already been restored.
The south side of downtown Kalamazoo was one of the areas hardest it by the outages, but there were outages throughout the region.
Trees fell on wires, on homes, and across a couple of lanes of south Westnedge.
The weather is also being blamed for a house fire in Cedar Springs that killed a pet.
The stormy weather kept temperatures from reaching the 90-degree mark.
