KALAMAZOO (WKZO)– Fire marshals will be looking for the cause today of a fire that chased a family out of their home in the 700 block of Darby Lane early Saturday morning.
By the time the first fire truck had rolled up to the scene on the dead end street on Kalamazoo’s far West side, the 6 occupants had managed to escape and firefighters could see heavy smoke and flames inside the home.
It took them about 30-minutes to knock down the fire, but by then it had caused extensive damage to the home.
The Red Cross was asked to help the family with temporary assistance.
