OSHTEMO TOWNSHIP (WKZO-AM/FM) — Kalamazoo County Sheriff’s deputies are looking for a driver who struck a 13-year-old boy in the Colonial Trails Trailer Park in Oshtemo Township Wednesday evening.
The hit-and-run collision occurred at about 6:30 p.m. Deputies say a compact car was south on Colonial Trail Drive when it struck the juvenile who was on a skateboard at the time.
They say the driver did not apply the brakes, in fact according to witnesses, the car fled at a higher rate of speed.
The victim was taken to Bronson Methodist Hospital and admitted with serious but non-life threatening injuries.
Sheriff’s investigators would like to talk to anyone who witnessed the incident. They describe the vehicle as an older small grey or silver car with a burned out driver-side tail light.
