BATTLE CREEK, MI (WKZO-AM) — The Battle Creek Police Department is investigating an anonymous threat against the Lakeview School District.
The threat forced a closure of the district Wednesday.
Authorities say a threat of gun violence came through a contact form on the district’s website at around 10:15 p.m. Tuesday. Police were notified at around 11:30 p.m. The threat read, “I am so sick of this s—. You better close school tomorrow or I’m going to shoot this place up.”
Police are working closely with school administrators and the third-party company that manages the website. Police believe an email address was created to send the threat through the district’s website contact form.
The closure affects all staff and students.
