KALAMAZOO (WKZO-AM) — A man who claimed he was upset with his girlfriend is in jail Monday because he took his wrath out on a Kalamazoo Public Safety cruiser.
Officers say the 48-year-old was leaving the public safety station on Howard Street at about 4:30 p.m. Sunday when he grabbed a shovel and bashed in the windshield of an unoccupied police cruiser in the parking lot.
When confronted by officers who saw what he did, he laid the shovel down and told them to take him to jail.
He will probably be charged with the malicious destruction of police property.
