HARTFORD (WKZO-AM) — Four people are behind bars at the Van Buren County Jail and sheriff’s detectives are seeking charges against another man after a one-pot methamphetamine lab, materials used to make the drug, digital scales and paraphernalia were found at a residence on Maple Hill in Hartford.
The discovery was made during the service of a search warrant at around 11 a.m. Thursday, according to a press release. A 20-year-old Hartford man, a 34-year-old Hartford woman, a 22-year-old Lawrence man and a 24-year-old Hartford woman were jailed.
The 22-year-old man and the 24-year-old woman were arrested after arriving at the home in a vehicle. Detectives said both were in possession of methamphetamine, and the man, who was behind the wheel, was also charged for operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of drugs.
Investigators say three children, who lived at the home but were not there when the warrant was served, were taken into protective custody. The children, ages 14, 8 and 6, were at school, the press release said.
Those with more information in regard to the case are being urged to contact the Van Buren County Sheriff’s Office at (269) 657-3101.
