The events raise money to fund innovative research, provide free information and support, and to help people reduce their breast cancer risk or find it early when it’s most treatable. They also provide crucial support for patients and their families.
- One in eight women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetime.
- Breast cancer is the most commonly diagnosed cancer in women.
- Breast cancer is the second leading cause of death among women.
- In 2019, more than 268,600 women are expected to be newly diagnosed with breast cancer.
- Nationwide, 41,760 women are expected to die from breast cancer this year.
- Although breast cancer in men is rare, an estimated 2,150 men will be diagnosed with breast cancer and approximately 410 will die each year.

- Lump, hard knot or thickening inside the breast or thickening inside the breast or underarm area
- Swelling, warmth, redness or darkening of the breast
- Change in the size or shape of the breast
- Dimpling or puckering of the skin

- Pulling in of your nipple or other parts of the breast
- Nipple discharge that start suddenly
- New pain in one spot that does not go away
