LANSING (WKZO AM/FM) – Michigan is changing the way that COVID-19 testing data is reported.
The Dept. of Health and Human Services announced that it will now separate the findings from the serology testing and the diagnostic tests.
Serology tests determine the level of coronavirus antibodies, which can tell if someone has had the virus, and can also assist in exposure levels.
The traditional diagnostic tests tell whether someone has the virus.
Dr Joneigh Khaldun, the state’s chief medical officer, stated that the change should improve how the public understands the pandemic.
