PORTAGE, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — A popular Detroit pizza chain is looking to hire 100 employees for the new location in Portage.
Buddy’s Pizza, the creator of the Detroit-style pizza, took over the former home of Old Chicago in Portage after they announced their closure last August.
Now the chain is looking to hire more than 100 people at that Portage location on South Westnedge Avenue, north of I-94.
Some of the positions include dining room supervisor, kitchen and carry out staff, pizza maker, grill cook, and host. Their release states that “Buddy’s Pizza offers competitive wages, a fun, dynamic work environment, flexible schedules and some delicious dining discounts.”
Those interested can apply online here.
According to their website, “Buddy’s Pizza invented the Original Detroit-Style Pizza in 1946 at the Six Mile and Conant location in Detroit. The very first Detroit-Style Pizza was created in a blue steel pan used to hold car parts, giving the pizza its unique, square shape.”
