SOUTH BEND, IN (WTVB) – Notre Dame football will be able to compete for the ACC Championship this fall. The ACC announced its schedule yesterday, with each team playing 10 conference games and one non-conference matchup.
The format will be set for this fall only.
Notre Dame still has three non-conference games on its schedule. Western Michigan University is scheduled to play for September 19, at Notre Dame Stadium, and the Fighting Irish are contracted to pay the Broncos $1.175 million for the trip.
The contract stipulated WMU could receive $500,000 if Notre Dame cancels the game at least one year in advance and $1.1 million if it cancels within a year of the game.
