PAVILION TOWNSHIP, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — UPDATE: The Kalamazoo County Sheriff’s Office is reporting that a fire broke out early Tuesday morning after a shooting in the Pavilion Township area.
Around 11 a.m. Monday, police responded to the shooting at Pavilion Estates park. County Undersheriff James VanDyken told news outlets that the victim had surgery while the search is on for the shooter.
Around 2 a.m. Tuesday morning, a fire broke out at the victim’s home. Police are continuing to investigate the fire, which is being considered a suspected arson.
No one was injured in the fire.
VanDyken added that the shooter, identified as a neighbor of the victim, is not believed to pose a risk to public safety, and its possible that the suspect has left Michigan.
Neither the name of the suspect nor the name of the victim have been released.
