CALHOUN COUNTY, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — Local health officials are telling the public that there are no confirmed cases of novel coronavirus in Calhoun County following a false reporting of the illness.
The Calhoun County Public Health Department said on Tuesday, February 25th that they received one report of the respiratory virus, but later determined that the claim was false.
325 people are currently being monitored in Michigan for symptoms of coronavirus, all of whom are at low-to-medium risk for the illness.
The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services says that once they are sent a referral for individuals possibly exposed to the virus, they are looked after and monitored by their local health department.
A statement on the Calhoun County Public Health Department website reads:
“Calhoun County Public Health Department continues to keep close tabs on the response to the Coronavirus world and nation-wide. The most important thing to note is that there are no cases of Coronavirus in Michigan, but we want our community to have access to the most up to date information available.”
