VAN BUREN COUNTY, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — The Van Buren County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Unit is reporting that a drug bust has led to two arrests.
Previously, police were investigating into the sale of heroin in both South Haven Township and Covert Township.
On Tuesday, February 11, detectives conducted surveillance on a vehicle driven by a 56-year-old male suspect, making a traffic stop around 3:10 p.m.
During the stop, it was revealed that the 56-year-old was also on parole.
A 28-year-old male was also in the vehicle at the time of the stop. It was then discovered that he had a valid warrant for his arrest in Kalamazoo.
A subsequent search of the vehicle turned up four bindles of suspect heroin.
As a result, the 56-year-old was arrested on charges of Possession of Heroin and Parole Violation. The 28-year old was arrested on charges of Possession With Intent to Deliver (PWID) Heroin, plus his outstanding warrant in Kalamazoo.
Following their lodging at the Van Buren County Jail, a search warrant was executed later in the day at the 56-year-old’s house. Whether anything else was found in the search was not immediately made known.
