PORTAGE, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — For its third year, the Mascot Madness event will welcome a variety of characters and families for a day of ice skating fun.
The event will feature appearances by the Detroit Tiger’s Paws, Western Michigan University’s Buster, Slappy from the Kalamazoo Wings, and The Kalamazoo Growler’s Porter.
Hosted by the Portage Parks and Recreation Department, the event will take place from 3 to 5 P.M. at the ice rink in Millennium Park on Romence Road.
The chance to meet the mascots is free and open to the public, but standard rates for skating rentals still apply. The going rate for skating is $4 and for ice skate rentals the cost is $3.
