DETROIT, MI (WTVB) – Tim Anderson and Eloy Jimenez homered as the Chicago White Sox topped the Detroit Tigers 7-5 Wednesday afternoon.
Luis Robert drove in three runs for Chicago. Dylan Cease picked up the win despite giving up five runs over six innings for the White Sox, who have won two in a row.
Jonathan Schoop and Willi Castro homered for the Tigers.
Matthew Boyd gave up seven runs over four and two thirds innings to take the loss for Detroit, which has lost two straight.
The Tigers have the day off after today’s doubleheader against the St. Louis Cardinals was postponed. The teams were supposed to make up games that were cancelled last week, but St, Louis continues to deal with a Covid-19 outbreak.
The two teams are still scheduled to play a doubleheader on September 10 in St. Louis.
