LANSING, MI – Teachers with the Michigan Caucus of Rank-and-File Educators, the largest teachers union in the state, called for remote learning on Thursday as they rallied at the state Capitol.
MI CORE want Governor Whitmer to suspend all in-person instruction until there have been two weeks without any new COVID-19 cases.
Teachers also want more money for safety when classrooms reopen.
Whitmer’s MI Safe Schools plan allows for classes to resume under Phase 4 with strict measures such as social distancing and mask wearing in place.
Most of the state is currently in that phase.
