THREE RIVERS, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — A man believed to be armed has been arrested in Three Rivers after a standoff with police Tuesday.
WOODTV8 reports that a stretch of 5th Avenue between Portage Avenue and the Portage River was blocked off by responding authorities while negotiations were underway.
St. Joseph County Prosecutor John McDonough told WOODTV8 that the suspect was believed to be armed.
The suspect eventually left the building he was barricaded inside of and surrendered to police.
Police later said that there were no injuries reported in the incident, but that there may have been some shots fired.
WWMT later reported that someone had gone to the house in question to pick up property and shots were fired shortly after.
No further information about the suspect or the events leading to the standoff was made immediately available.
