OVERISEL TOWNSHIP, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — Allegan County Sheriff’s Deputies are investigating a three vehicle crash that killed one and injured three others on Saturday.
Police were dispatched to the intersection of 144th Avenue and 43rd Street in Overisel Township around 2 p.m. where a passenger car had stopped at a two-way stop sign then proceeded through the intersection where they collided with a pickup truck hauling lumber. That truck then collided with another pickup.
There were two passengers that needed to be extracted from the car.
The driver of the car, identified as Marrissa Hemmeke, a 22-year-old female of Holland, along with a 12 year-old male, a 10-year-old male and 8 year female from the Hamilton area were transported by Fennville AMR and Aeromed to Grand Rapids area hospitals, where Hemmeke later died from her injuries.
The crash remains under investigation by the Allegan County Sheriff’s Office crash reconstruction team.
