ST. JOSEPH COUNTY, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — Two men from Indiana are in the St. Joseph County Jail after a police chase across two states.
St. Joseph County Sheriff deputies were called to assist LaGrange County, Indiana deputies after the suspects fled northbound on Burr Oak Road around 8:00 p.m. Thursday.
Deputies used stop sticks to flatten the vehicle’s tires at the intersection of Burr Oak and Hackman Road but the suspect continued for a few more miles, shredding their tires down to the rim, and then drove into a corn field near Hagelgans Road where the driver fled on foot.
Michigan State Police launched a K-9 that tracked down the 44-year-old man. He was arrested for multiple felony charges.
The 34-year-old passenger was also arrested and booked into the St. Joseph County Jail as he waits to be extradited for charges in Indiana.
