KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — Kalamazoo’s Department of Public Services is issuing a no contact advisory for part of the Kalamazoo River after a sanitary sewer release.
Officials discovered the sewage around 5 p.m. Monday at the corner of Cameron Street and East Stockbridge Avenue and say a broken pipe was the cause for the release, which is on-going.
Residents should avoid the Kalamazoo River between the Kings Highway bridge and the Mills Street bridge as crews work to fix the pipe and clean up the spill.
