BATTLE CREEK, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — Halloween fans in Battle Creek are preparing for the seventh annual Trunk-or-Treat event on Halloween night.
The Battle Creek Police Department and other public safety agencies host the annual event, which is free and open to the public.
Due to attendance exceeding expectations every year, the BCPD is seeking donations to purchase candy for attendees. Financial donations may be sent to the Battle Creek Police Department Law Enforcement Community Project Fund, a fund of the Battle Creek Community Foundation.
Checks can be made payable to BCCF/PDLAW and mailed to Battle Creek Community Foundation, which is located at 32 W. Michigan Ave., Suite 1, Battle Creek, MI 49017.
Donations can also be made on the Communication Foundation’s website, https://www.bccfoundation.org/fund/cpf.
Additionally, unopened bags of candy can be donated at the BCPD station, which is located at 34 N. Division St. Donations can be made between the business hours of 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.
The event takes place from 5 to 7 p.m. on Halloween night in the parking lot across from Battle Creek Central High School, which is at West Van Buren Street and McCamly Street.
The BCPD is also offering Halloween safety tips to discuss with children, all of which can be viewed in the attached graphic.
