KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — An investigation is underway after an armed robbery not far from Western Michigan’s campus.
Around 9:30 p.m. Thursday University Public Safety tweeted a report of a robbery in the area of Lafayette and Redwood Avenues and told everyone nearby to exercise caution.
Officers say 4 men got out of a dark red Ford Fusion, approached two victims, and stole their cell phones and a wallet.
One victim suffered minor injures while they were trying to protect their property.
According to Kalamazoo Public Safety officers, the suspects were described as 4 light-skinned black or Hispanic males in their late teens or early 20’s.
One suspect had a handgun tucked in his waistband.
