PORTER TOWNSHIP, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — Seven people are injured including three children after a two car crash on Thanksgiving in Porter Township.
It happened around 5:30 p.m.on US-12 and M-217.
Cass County Sheriff deputies say a 58-year-old Cassopolis resident was traveling northbound on M-217 when he failed to stop at the intersection and hit a vehicle traveling eastbound on US-12.
The vehicle struck was being driven by a 33-year-old Kalamazoo resident and five other passengers: an 83-year-old, a 79-year-old, 9-year-old, 7-year-old, and a 2-year-old.
Everyone was rushed to Elkhart General Hospital for injuries but their current conditions have not been released.
Seat belts were worn and airbags did deploy in the vehicle that was struck.
Investigators believe alcohol may have been a factor in this crash but they are still looking into the incident.
