OTSEGO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — Otsego commissioner Nick Breedveld submitted his letter of resignation Wednesday after details emerged that he allegedly took advantage of his elected position to purchase property before the city could claim it themselves.
Breedveld was in a private meeting on March 18, 2019 to discuss purchase of property located at 221 Mitchell Street.
Breedveld then purchased said property before the city had the opportunity to do so.
An agreement was made between both parties that Breedveld would sell the property back in a Buy-Sell Agreement for its original sale price of $11,000, and the city would not pursue litigation against him.
