KALAMAZOO (WKZO AM/FM) — Kalamazoo Public Safety and the FBI are teaming up to bust the bank robber who held up the Old National Bank branch on Portage Street early Monday afternoon.
Public Safety says the African American, who is about 50 walked in, implied he had a gun and demanded money from the teller.
He fled the bank on foot where another witness believes he jumped into small passenger vehicle with a missing hubcap on the front passenger side on Howland Avenue. There were no injuries.
He was wearing a black hooded zip up jacket, dark colored pants and shoes and a light colored baseball cap.
There may have been a getaway driver involved too.
Police hope by making surveillance photos taken during the Robbery public that someone from the public might recognize the robber.
Captain Brad Misner says anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to contact Kalamazoo Public Safety at 269-488-9111, or Silent Observer at 269-343-2100.
