KALAMAZOO (WKZO AM/FM) — A boil water advisory is being lifted in Kalamazoo but a couple new ones are being put in place.
The City of Kalamazoo has closed out the boil water advisory on Arthur Avenue after a water main break there late last week resulted in a loss of pressure and the threat of bacterial contamination.
Tests revealed the water is safe to drink and so the advisory, which affected homeowners on Arthur between Dearborn and Charles, has been lifted.
Two new water main breaks on Clearview Avenue, in the Eastwood Neighborhood and Nichols in Westwood, have triggered new boil water advisories on those streets until further notice.
Homeowners on Clearview from East Main to Dearborn are affected.
The main break on Nichols has prompted a boil water alert for homeowners along that street and for portions of Huron, Mohawk and Marlane Avenues.
They will need to boil any water they ingest or use to do the dishes for the next few days. Bottled water works too.
